United In Zaha Link
Manchester United are lining up a move for former player Wilfried Zaha next summer.
Reports on Monday claim the Red Devils are prepared to pay up £70 million for a player who flopped during his first spell at the club between 2013 and 2015.
Zaha, who rejoined Crystal Palace after leaving United, was linked during the summer with an exit from Selhurst Park. However, he was told by the south London club’s hierarchy after United paid £45 million for Aaron Wan-Bissaka that they would not be parting with two of their top young prospects. Despite being linked with both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, Zaha stayed put. The Gunners’ signing of Nicolas Pepe was the final straw as it ended their interest in Zaha.
No Move For Ibrahimovic
Meanwhile, Manchester United have ruled out a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Some outlets have been claiming that contact has been made between United and the Swede who played for the club between 2016 and 2018.
Ibrahimovic is set to become a free agent when his contract with LA Galaxy expires next month. The MLS side have offered a new deal worth €7 million a year after tax.
But Serie A sides Napoli, Bologna and AC Milan are all showing an interest in the Swede and a return to the latter is on the cards.
Ibrahimovic scored 29 goals during his first spell at Old Trafford. However, he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury towards the end of the 2016-17 season that was to effectively end his time at the club.
He made just seven appearances in the 2017-18 campaign before cancelling his contract and moving to Galaxy.
