Juventus Scouts Watch Teenage Striker
Manchester United will have to pay €100 million (£86 million) for Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland.
United are one of 45 clubs to have registered an interest in signing the 19-year-old – should he become available.
Haaland scored for the seventh time in this season’s Champions League group games when he scored from the penalty spot in his side’s 1-1 draw with Napoli. The result leaves them with a lot to do to secure a place in the knockout stages. Salzburg lie in third place in the group, four points behind Napoli but with only games against Genk and Liverpool to come.
Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund admitted earlier this week that there have been no official approaches for Haaland from any club. But Italian newspaper Tuttosport claims that with interest from the likes of Serie A giants Juventus as well as Real Madrid and Manchester United, Salzburg have set a starting price of €100 million.
Scouts from Juventus were in Naples for last night’s match.
Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Burnley winger Dwight McNeill. The 19-year-old left United’s academy five years ago and is now valued at £35 million following a string of stand-out performances for the Clarets this season.
