Rice Wanted In January
Manchester United have made West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice their top transfer target. However, plans to make a move for the England international in January look unlikely to come to fruition.
The 20-year-old has been linked on a number of occasions with a move to Old Trafford. But a switch in the summer was never an option after Rice declared it was the wrong time of his career to be considering an exit from West Ham.
Goal.com believes United could make a move for Rice in January. But manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is more likely to put his efforts into signing a new striker rather than a midfielder in the winter market. Plus the Hammers will dig in their heels over a mid-season move.
A fresh bid in the summer looks more likely.
United Warned Over Werner
Manchester United have been told to forget about signing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
The Germany international was linked at the weekend with interest from United. However, Leipzig sporting director Markus Kroesche has ruled out a move for the 23-year-old.
“Timo just extended his contract with us recently, and we’re not thinking about letting him go at all,” Kroesche told German newspaper Bild.
Liverpool have also been linked with Werner. However, the Merseyside club are believed to have ended their interest, a decision that led to the striker signing a new deal with Leipzig in August.
Werner has scored nine goals in ten Bundesliga appearances for Leipzig so far this season.
