Arsenal will join Manchester City and Juventus in the race for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to reports from Spain.

The 27-year-old has featured in just five La Liga games so far this season although injury can be blamed for part of his absences.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Real are willing to listen to offers of around €70 million (£63 million) for the Spain international and are open to a January departure.

Arsenal have an interest in Isco that goes back to Arsene Wenger’s time as manager. However, the Spaniard always insisted his future lay at the Bernabeu. That was also the case in the summer, but Real coach Zinedine Zidane believes Isco hasn’t responded in a manner he would have liked to when he has been called upon.

Mundo Deportivo adds, however, that no concrete bids have yet been received and that their claim of interest of all three clubs is merely based on past interest.

Plus the paper itself cannot always be relied upon to give an accurate reflection of what is going on in Madrid. It is based in Barcelona and media outlets in that city usually put out stories claiming Real Madrid players are unsettled – in much the same way as papers in Madrid do about Barcelona.
