Zidane, Pogba Spotted Chatting In Dubai
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists his chat in Dubai this week with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba was “purely by chance”.
The pair were spotted chatting by a pool at a hotel after meeting up during the international break. Zidane’s Real Madrid were out of action and he attended a conference on the integration of artificial intelligence in sport. Pogba missed France’s Euro 2020 qualifiers with Iceland and Turkey through injury.
Real were linked during the summer with interest in Pogba. They were told by United that the 26-year-old was not for sale. However, the rumours won’t go away and will be only be fuelled by this week’s meeting between the pair.
“My encounter with Pogba was purely by chance. We know each other well so we talked,” Zidane said at a Real Madrid press conference today.
“And what we spoke about is private, a conversation between me and him. We’ve known each other a long time.”
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola insisted during the summer that his client wants “a new challenge”.
Former club Juventus are also said to be interested.
