Arsenal are in talks with Turkish side Fenerbahce over a loan move for midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Turkish website Takvim claims Fener sporting director Damian Comolli – who held a similar post at Liverpool – has been in contact with the Gunners over a possible loan move in January.

Ozil has featured only twice for the Gunners so far this season and he hasn’t even made the matchday squad for Arsenal’s last three Premier League games leading to speculation that his time at the Emirates is over.

Fenerbahce were linked in the summer with a move for the former Germany international. However, the deal fell apart over the proportion of his £350,000-a-week wages that the Turkish side were prepared to pay.

Ozil once said in an interview with a Turkish newspaper that he would love to play for Fenerbahce later in his career.

His contract at Arsenal runs to 2021.
