Duo In United Sights
Manchester United are keeping tabs on two young overseas players.
Mexican striker Jose Juan Macias is being watched by scouts from Old Trafford. That’s according to reports from the Spanish newspaper Marca.
Macias has scored 16 goals in 26 appearances for Liga MX side Leon although he is on loan from Guadalajara. There is an option for Leon to buy him when the Mexican season concludes at the end of the year.
The 20-year-old made his international debut in October and got on the score sheet in Mexico’s 2-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago.
United are monitoring his progress but face potential competition for his signature from Cologne and Real Betis.
Another player being watched by Manchester United is the 22-year-old Russian midfielder Aleksandr Sobolev (pictured above). The Daily Mirror claims the Krylia Sovetov player is a potential January transfer target for the Red Devils.
Sobolev has scored 17 goals in 35 appearances for Krylia including eight in 11 appearances so far this season.
He had a spell out on loan earlier this year with lower-league side Yenisey Krasnoyarsk for whom he scored three goals in 10 appearances.
Another United transfer target, Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech, has had his £26 million release clause removed from his contract with the club.
Ziyech, 26, has signed a new deal with the Dutch side allowing them to name their price.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid are also being linked.
