Two On January Transfer Target List
Manchester United are being linked with Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic and Bournemouth’s England international frontman Callum Wilson in the January transfer window.
United have been caught short up front following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez and have scored just five goals in six league games since their 4-0 opening weekend win over Chelsea.
Mandzukic was linked with the Red Devils during the summer as part of a double-deal involving his Juve team-mate Paulo Dybala. However, Dybala wasn’t interested in a move to the Premier League. Paris Saint-Germain and a club in Qatar were also linked with Mandzukic.
The 33-year-old has yet to play a single minute of football for Juventus so far this season and while he is being promised a look-in at some stage he isn’t likely to be a regular member of the first eleven.
Sky Italia claims Manchester United could renew their interest in January even though at 33 the Croatia international is well beyond the cut-off age of 30 where United’s interest tends to come to an end.
Wilson is a more likely target. He is 27 years old and has hit five goals in seven Premier League matches as Bournemouth have surged to eighth place in the table – two points and two places ahead of United.
The Cherries are likely to demand around £30 million for their striker who has over three years left on his contract at the Vitality Stadium.
