New Deal Would See Wage Rise To £220,000 A Week
Liverpool have opened talks with Sadio Mane over yet another new deal for the Senegal international.
Mane only signed a contract extension last November but he is already in talks over a deal that would make him the club’s highest-paid player on £220,000 a week.
The 27-year-old scored 22 times in the Premier League last term to share the league’s Golden Boot award.
Mane already earns £150,000 a week; however, the Italian journalist Nicolo Schira claims talks have begun over a contract that would run to 2025. That could keep the Senegalese at Anfield until he is 33 years old.
Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk both earn £180,000 a week at Liverpool while Mo Salah is currently the club’s highest-paid player on over £200,000 a week.
Mane was linked during the summer with interest from Real Madrid and these fresh talks are aimed at deterring any further interest.
