Wilson On United Target List
Manchester United are preparing a move for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson if reports are to be believed.
The England international has scored three goals in his last two games for the Cherries and has been involved in 26 goals since the start of last season – 17 goals and nine assists. That’s six more than Marcus Rashford who has been involved in 20 – 13 scored and seven assists – during the same time period.
The Sun claims United are ready to put in a bid for Wilson – most likely next summer. However, while United are interested in signing young British players after landing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire, Wilson doesn’t quite match that criteria. He is 27 – he turns 28 in February – and is a few years older than other reported United targets such as Jadon Sancho and James Maddison. Sancho was reportedly the subject of an enquiry by United during the summer.
Rumours surrounding an exit by Wilson from Bournemouth are an annual occurrence. However, he remains with the Cherries, a side he joined from Coventry City in 2014.
