Real Madrid will switch their attentions to Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen if Paul Pogba signs a new deal with Manchester United.

Real were linked with Denmark international Eriksen over the summer; however, they were also linked with Pogba and after a nett spend of £160 million they decided to hold off from bidding for either player.

Eriksen was also linked with Manchester United this summer – but only as a possible replacement for Pogba if the Frenchman left.

Sky Sports now claims that Real could make a move for Eriksen at the end of the season if Pogba pledges his long-term future to United.

Eriksen’s contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season. The Dane would then be available on a free transfer. He will be free to speak to overseas clubs from 1 January about a pre-contract agreement.
