Manchester United News: Adidas ‘Intervened’ Over Pogba Transfer

Frenchman Has Personal Deal With German Giants

Paul Pogba Manchester United

Paul Pogba remained a Manchester United player this summer following the intervention of kit sponsors Adidas.

That’s the claim being made by one outlet which claims the German firm acted as peacemakers in Pogba’s fall-out with United.

Pogba was linked with a move to Real Madrid – whose kit is also manufactured by Adidas – but according to the Daily Star it would be more marketable for him to remain at United where he is the main star player rather than to a star-studded side like Real.

“They acted as peacemakers between the player, his agent and the club,” a ‘source’ told the paper.

“Adidas were crucial in persuading all the parties to resolve their differences for another season.”

Pogba is regarded as one of the five most marketable players in the world. However, crucially he also has an agreement with Adidas. He is three years into a ten-year personal deal with the multi-national giant worth £10 million.

Villa Set To Revive Rojo Interest?

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is being linked with a move to Aston Villa.

The Argentina international hinted at the weekend that he could push for a move away from Old Trafford is he doesn’t get much game-time. Although the 29-year-old made several appearances in United’s pre-season programme he has yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

Rojo was linked with Villa on Premier League deadline day last month. However, the Birmingham Mail believes he could still be a target in the January window.

United are expected to trim their squad following the arrival of one central defender in Harry Maguire and the expected return from injury before the end of the year of another in Eric Bailly.
