Scouts Watch Cahir
Liverpool are keeping tabs on Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cahir. Scouts from Merseyside were at the Black Sea outfit’s 1-1 draw with Fenerbahce at the weekend, a game in which Cahir made eight saves to help earn a point.
According to Star TV in Turkey, Liverpool have told Trabzonspor that they intend to monitor Cahir over the coming months.
The 23-year-old only broke into the Trabzonspor side in the second half of last season when he played in 20 league games for the team. He has started in all three of their games so far this season.
Liverpool signed Adrian on a free transfer this summer and the Spaniard was thrust into the Reds’ first team after first-choice keeper Alisson suffered a calf injury in the 4-1 win over Norwich City at the start of the season. Veteran keeper Andy Lonergan was also signed this summer to act as third-choice keeper with 20-year-old Caoimhin Kelleher making up the club’s current goalkeeping options.
