Clubs Closing In On Agreement
Manchester United are still hopeful that Alexis Sanchez will leave the club before 2 September and talks are expected to take place in the next few days with Inter Milan.
“There are talks with some clubs,” manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer openly admitted at a press conference on Friday.
“He’s working hard and let’s see in September what’s going to happen.”
Talks are expected to resume with Inter on Monday. The Serie A have already signed one player from Manchester United in the shape of striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter take on Lecce on Monday in their opening Serie A game and Calciomercato in Italy believes the Italian club are hoping to announce the deal before kick-off.
Sanchez’s move is likely to take the form of an initial season-long loan with a right to make the move permanent next summer. Inter will not be paying a loan fee but will pay United €15 million (£13.5 million) at the end of the season,
There is, however, the division between the two clubs of Sanchez’s wages for this season. The Chile international earns a basic pay of £400,000 a week and Inter are pushing for United to pay the bulk of that for the next ten months or so before he becomes their man permanently on 1 July 2020.
