Sanchez Talks Today
Manchester United and Inter Milan will have fresh talks today over a move for the United forward Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international has been linked in recent weeks with a move to Inter but talks have stalled largely over the contribution United will make to his wages. Sanchez earns a basic wage of around £400,000 a week – far more than Inter can afford – and he is reluctant to take a massive pay cut to force through a move to the Serie A side.
Talks will take place today in a bid to get the move over the line. The transfer window in Italy’s top flight closes at 8pm local time ahead of the league’s start this weekend.
Some sources claim United may have to pay up to 75 percent of Sanchez’s wage if they wish to move him on.
No Move For Llorente
Meanwhile, Manchester United are being linked with a move for former Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente. But some outlets are claiming a move is unlikely.
Reports from Italy claimed on Thursday that United are interested in the 34-year-old. The Red Devils tend not to sign players over the age of 30 except when they are available on a free transfer and even then only on a one-year deal. Llorente fits the bill in that regard and United have yet to buy a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
But United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer intends to stick with his current forwards and will give more game time this season to 17-year-old Mason Greenwood who impressed in pre-season games.
A move for Llorente isn’t on the cards.
