Defender Set For Exit
Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is closing in on a £23 million move to Roma.
The Croatia international played in just 18 games last season in all competitions for the Reds and hasn’t featured in either of the side’s opening two games of this campaign.
Roma will pay a total of €25 million (£23 million) including bonuses in what looks to be a loan with the right to make the deal permanent at the end of the loan spell.
Lovren moved to Liverpool from Southampton in a £20 million transfer in 2014. He has made a total of 170 appearances for the Reds.
The 30-year-old will replace Greece international centre-back Kostas Manolas who has joined Napoli in a £33 million transfer.
