Lawyers representing Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar have been spotted at the Barcelona club offices heightening speculation over a return to Spain.

The news comes after PSG fans made their feelings known about the Brazilian at the weekend. Fans unfurled anti-Neymar banners during the season opener with Nimes. “Neymar Casse toi” (“Neymar get lost”) and “Se faire taper par une pute n’arrive pas qu’en remontada tu t’en souviens?” (“Being hit by a prostitute doesn’t only happen during a comeback, do you remember?) were among the messages to the former Barcelona man.

Neymar is being linked with a return to the Nou Camp although there are also reports of interest from Real Madrid.

However, a lawyer representing the 27-year-old were seen entering Barcelona’s offices on Sunday heightening speculation over a move back to the club he left for €222 million in 2017. Juan de Dios Crespo paid Neymar’s release fee at the time of his transfer. Gol TV filmed the Spaniard walking in to the commercial offices at Barcelona.

Neymar is currently out injured and missed Sunday’s game which PSG won 3-0. He also missed the Copa America through injury this summer and was accused of raping a model. Now, he is trying to sever his ties with PSG although the French side are playing hardball.

Reports at the weekend suggested Barcelona aren’t interested in a cash deal and will only do a player-exchange transfer.

Real Madrid are said to be prepared to offer the player a deal worth £700,000 a week.

PSG are reported to have accepted that a move is inevitable and have stopped selling Neymar shirts at the club shop.

But there is no word yet on the size of the transfer fee. PSG are already under investigation over Neymar’s inward transfer two years ago. The club’s accounts will show that the Brazilian is still worth €133 million as he signed a five-year contract on his arrival. If they receive anything less than that it means booking a loss.
