Pepe Transfer Details Revealed
Arsenal will make an initial payment of just £20 million of the £72 million transfer fee for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
The Gunners are set to make the Ivory Coast international their club-record signing in the coming days with no last-minute bid from Paris Saint-Germain.
But Arsenal will pay Pepe’s transfer fee over a five-year period with £20 million now and the remainder spread over the duration of the 24-year-old’s first contract at the Emirates.
The Premier League side have beaten off competition from the likes of Liverpool, Napoli, Manchester United and Juventus for a player they were linked with for much of last season.
Pepe will have a medical at the Gunners’ London Colney training complex later this week.
The winger was second to PSG’s Kylian Mbappe in the Ligue 1 scoring charts last season with 22 goals and 11 assists as Lille surprised many by ending the season in second place.
Mustafi In Monaco Link
Meanwhile, Arsenal have received an enquiry from French side Monaco over the availability of central defender Shkodran Mustafi.
French newspaper L’Equipe claims Monaco are interested in the Germany international who has endured a tough time at the Emirates since he arrived from Valencia in a £42 million transfer in 2016. The paper adds that Arsenal value the 27-year-old at £30 million.
Mustafi was barracked by a section of the Arsenal support in their defeat to Lyon in the Emirates Cup at the weekend.
