Madrid Confident Over Pogba Deal
Real Madrid are increasingly hopeful of signing Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. That’s according to sources at the Bernabeu. But for the second time this week sources from outside Old Trafford are talking up the chances of a transfer involving Manchester United taking place.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes was linked with United for much of the summer but those rumours have mostly come from Portugese sources and the 24-year-old is unlikely to move ot Old Trafford.
Now, ESPN are claiming that Real are confident about doing a deal. The feeling at Old Trafford is that Pogba will remain at United for at least one more season. His commercial value is just as important as his potential as a player. Plus United have yet to find a possible replacement.
Real have already spend almost £300 million so far this summer and United will demand £180 million for Pogba. But the La Liga giants are still hopeful of doing a deal.
There is over a month to go to the close of the La Liga transfer window but the deadline in the Premier League is less than two weeks away and United will not allow Pogba to leave without a replacement already in place.
Lukaku Meets Agent In Belgium
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku has flown to Belgium for talks with his agent. The striker is being linked with a move to Inter Milan although the Serie A side have failed to meet United’s £80 million valuation.
Lukaku arrived back from United’s tour at 7.30 on Friday morning and immediately caught a flight to his homeland for talks over the move to Inter.
Antonio Conte’s side have offered £54 million for Lukaku who has disappointed during his two seasons at Old Trafford.
The Belgian didn’t feature at all for Manchester United during their games in Australia and the Far East with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer citing an injury as the reason for his absence.
