Manchester United Transfer News: Maguire, Coutinho

Maguire Wants United Move

Harry Maguire Manchester United transfer news

Leicester City defender and Manchester United transfer target Harry Maguire has told the Foxes he wants to leave the club.

The Mail On Sunday claims Maguire told Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers during the club’s pre-season training camp in France.

The England international has been valued at anything between a world-record equalling £75 million and £90 million by Leicester. Manchester City have already been put off by the Foxes’ valuation leaving United with what appears to be a clear run at Maguire.

Rodgers will be given cash to strengthen his squad should Leicester cash in on Maguire. The Foxes have already splashed out a club-record £40 million on the purchase of midfielder Youri Tielemans from Monaco.

United Not Interested In Coutinho

Reports today that Phillippe Coutinho will snub a move to Manchester United are old news.

The Sunday Express claims the 27-year-old is more likely to join Paris Saint-Germain than United or former club Liverpool.

Coutinho has had a poor season with Barcelona – his first full campaign since a £105 million move from Anfield in January 2018 – and had spells out of the side.

But the Brazilian’s agent Kia Joorabchian claims that while Barcelona have told him Coutinho is not for sale he has evidence that he is being touted to other clubs.

“We had a meeting last week with the president [Josep] Bartomeu and other directors, and they told us he was absolutely not for sale, that they have never spoken about the boy leaving, that they had never offered him to any club,” Joorabchian told Sky Sports on Saturday.

“Although there is a guy that works for them called Andre Cury, who apparently has been touting him about – but the president has told us he is categorically not for sale.”

But United have long since ended their interest in Coutinho who was booed the club’s fans when the side played Barcelona in the Champions League last season.
