Pogba On The Plane
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has travelled on the club’s tour of Australia and the Far East despite his agent claiming he wants to leave the club.
Pogba was among the party that left Manchester for Perth on Sunday morning despite having not reported back for pre-season training this week. He was excused by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The France international’s agent Mino Raiola was reported yesterday as saying that Pogba wants to leave United.
“Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are,” he said.
“Everyone within the club, from the manager to the owner, knows Paul’s wishes.”
Raiola added at the time that he didn’t know whether Pogba would fly to Australia with the rest of the United squad.
Juventus and Real Madrid are both being linked but United have dug in their heels and won’t entertain any bids for the 26-year-old.
Manchester United face four games over an 18-day period on their tour. They arrive in Perth on Monday afternoon local time. On Saturday they take on A-League side Perth Glory followed by a friendly with Leeds United on 17 February. They then fly to Singapore to take on Inter Milan on 20 July before ending their trip in China and a game against Tottenham Hotspur in Shanghai on 25 July.
