Spaniard Keen On Premier League Move
Arsenal have offered £28 million plus bonuses for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez.
The 28-year-old was a transfer target for the Gunners last summer and is keen to play in the Premier League according to the Madrid-based newspaper AS. However, the Gunners will have to make him an attractive offer to make the move to north London.
Real have spent over £200 million on new players so far this summer and are ready to sell players to go some way towards balancing the books.
According to AS, Arsenal have offered €32 million (£28 million) with up to €3 million (£2.7 million) in add-ons and bonuses.
However, the Gunners will face competition for the Spain international. Inter Milan are also linked although budgetary constraints mean they are likely to be further down the pecking order than Arsenal. But Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested. The danger for Unai Emery is that both those clubs have deeper pockets than his club.
Vazquez is being seen as an alternative to Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. The Gunners have seen a £40 million bid turned down by the Eagles who are demanding £80 million.
But Vazquez wants a place in Spain’s Euro 2020 squad and he believes he has more chance of that with Arsenal than with Real Madrid.
