Red Devils Still Hopeful Over Midfielder
Manchester United still want to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes despite the transfer saga having dragged on for more than a month.
United appear to be the only club interested in the 24-year-old. Reports earlier this week claimed United have already had a £31 million bid rejected by Sporting. That’s the value of his release clause with the club. The Portugese side must pay Fernandes over £4 million from any transfer if they reject the bid. At present they are looking for a fee of over £50 million.
Sky Sports claims Fernandes’s agent has been in the UK weighing up any potential offers.
The Portugal international scored 32 goals in 50 games in all competitions last season. United tracked him for much of the campaign and expected to do a transfer deal by the middle of last month.
Lukaku Agent In Inter Talks
The agent of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has been in Italy for fresh talks with Inter Milan.
The Serie A side are keen to sign Lukaku on a two-year long loan deal with an option to purchase for €70 million (£62 million at present exchange rates in 2021).
But agent Federico Pastorello insisted that Inter must move fast if they want to land the Belgium international.
“There is no particular news,” he told Sky Italia. “But it is a concrete goal, even if it remains difficult at the moment.”
He went on: “I spoke with the director to better understand the situation. If Inter wants the player they must hurry.
“I don’t know the numbers, I don’t do the numbers. Maybe they are the ones that they really have in mind, we have to ask the club.”
“Inter is seriously trying to take him – he is a declared goal. It is not certain that the goal will always be attained, but it remains a concrete goal. At the moment it is a difficult dream.”
