Torreira ‘Happy’ At Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira claims there has been no contact from AC Milan over a move to the Serie A side.
The Uruguay international admitted earlier this month that he has struggled to adapt to life in England despite impressive performances for the Gunners last season.
But speaking at the Copa America tournament in Brazil, Torreira has attempted to play down the link with Milan.
“Nobody from AC Milan has got in touch with me,” he said.
“Today I’m in the Premier and happy to be part of Arsenal.
“Adapting was not easy, but I only think about the team. I’m happy to be there.”
Milan are being linked with a bizarre transfer that would involve them paying £34 million up-front for Torreira. However, the switch would effectively be a loan deal with Milan having the right to send him back to north London at any time over the next two years – and demanding their money back.
Arsenal are unlikely to entertain the terms of any such deal.
