Celtic To Demand High Price For Tierney
Arsenal have been told they will have to pay £25 million for the Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney.
The Scotland international has been linked with interest from the Gunners in recent weeks. But according to the Daily Telegraph they will have to blow most of their transfer budget on the Scotland international. Coach Unai Emery has a budget of around €50 million (£45 million) to spend on new players this summer.
Tierney would be offered a wage of £70,000 a week to make the move to the Emirates. However, the Telegraph claims that Manchester United’s pursuit of Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is having an effect on Arsenal’s interest in Tierney. United look set to pay somewhere in the region of £50 million for Wan-Bissaka – including add-ons and bonuses. Celtic have seen the sort of figures being thrown around for the England Under-21 international and are standing firm over their valuation of Tierney. The 22-year-old has just completed his fourth season as a first-team regular at Parkhead.
Zagado, Torreira, Carrasco
Arsenal are being linked with Borussia Dortmund defender Dan-Axel Zagado. The 20-year-old recently represented France at the Under-20 World Cup where he was watched by scouts from the Emirates.
Zagado has made 35 appearances for Dortmund over the past two seasons but reports claim he could be sold following the return of Mats Hummels. Germany international Hummels has turned 30 and the thinking at Dortmund is that Zagado is seen as his eventual successor.
Arsenal are standing firm over midfielder Lucas Torreira. Reports on Monday claimed AC Milan are willing to offer him the chance of a return to Italy. The Serie A side are prepared to pay £34 million but in a deal that would effectively be a loan. They could cancel the temporary move at any time over the next two and demand their money back.
But Arsenal are digging in their heels over a player who only moved to the Emirates last summer.
One player whose interest from Arsenal hasn’t progressed any further is Yannick Carrasco. The Dalian Yifang striker has been linked with the Gunners. However, reports from China claim there has yet to be any formal bid from Arsenal.
