Defender Now Linked With Spurs
Arsenal have ended their interest in Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen.
The Denmark international has been linked with interest from the Gunners alongside Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet, his team-mate at the Serie A side. Reports last week claimed the Premier League side had offered €50 million (£44 million) for the pair but that Sampdoria were demanding €55 million (£49 million).
However, it is now being claimed that Arsenal have not made a bid for the pair and that their north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Andersen. Spurs have been told to pay €35 million (£31 million) for the 23-year-old.
Arsenal face a third consecutive season out of the Champions League following their Europa League Final defeat to Chelsea last month. Their failure to qualify is having an effect on their ability to compete in the transfer market. The Gunners have a total transfer budget this summer of around €50 million (£44 million). That figure could be boosted by player sales.
