Pogba Hints At Manchester United Exit
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has given the clearest indication yet that he could be on his way out of Old Trafford.
The France international has been linked with a move away from United this summer with both Juventus and Real Madrid said to be interested. But speaking on Sunday, Pogba now could be the time for what he might see as a “new challenge”.
“Like you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well,” he said.
“For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.
“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
Reports over the weekend claimed Real are refusing to meet United’s valuation of £160 million. They are prepared to pay around £112 million plus bonuses. Pogba would take a pay cut to €11 million a year to make the move.
Serie A giants Juventus are also believed to be interested with sporting director Fabio Paratici having had talks with Ed Woodward in London last week.
United No Longer Keen On Tielemans
Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph claims Manchester United passed up the chance to sign Monaco forward Youri Tielemans.
The Belgium international spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City where he impressed for the Foxes. Leicester are in talks over a permanent deal but are baulking at Monaco’s asking price of £40 million.
However, the Telegraph claims that despite having had Tielemans watched on a number of occasions last season United are no longer interesting in making a bid of their own.
