Pogba Keen On Madrid Move
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba wants to leave the club and move to Real Madrid according to reports from Spain.
The France international was linked earlier this week with a transfer back to his former club Juventus. The Serie A side’s sporting director Fabio Paratici had talks in London with Ed Woodward this weekend over a possible deal that would see Pogba move back to the Italian club with full-back Joao Cancelo possibly moving to Manchester United as part of the deal.
But the Madrid-based newspaper Marca, which has close ties to Real, claims Pogba wants to move to the Bernabeu. It suggests he has been told by United he won’t be granted his wish to leave. However, the Frenchman wants finally to make the switch that he was keen to make when he decided to leave Juventus in 2016. United outgunned Real financially on that occasion.
Pogba is currently in Asia carrying out promotional work on behalf of Adidas. He is extremely popular in Japan and South Korea and is one of the world’s top five marketable most footballers.
The Frenchman’s agent, Mino Raiola, has seen his worldwide transfer ban lifted by Fifa, and will first set to work on the transfer of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt – possibly to Paris Saint-Germain. He will then turn his attentions to Pogba.
Manchester United transfer target Aaron Wan-Bissaka won’t push Crystal Palace for a move to Old Trafford. United have seen a bid of £40 million rejected by the Eagles who are holding out for £60 million.
However, Wan-Bissaka hasn’t put in a formal transfer request and will not do so, according to reports.
Manchester United are being linked once again with Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
The England international has been linked with interest this summer from Manchester City having been a United transfer target last summer.
But reports claim United may be more willing than City to meet Leicester’s valuation of £80 million.
Manchester United are favourites to sign Real Betis midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso. According to the Seville-based newspaper Estadio Deportivo a delegation from the La Liga side travelled to England this week. The result is that United are now in pole position to sign Lo Celso who has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
Betis are demanding £67 million for Lo Celso.
United are also being linked with a £25 million move for Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff. However, sources in the north-east claim there has been no approach yet from Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, United midfielder Fred is a target for Serie A side Roma. New coach Paulo Fonseca is considering a bid for the Brazilian.
