Arsenal transfer target Ryan Fraser looks set to see out his contract with Bournemouth and will stay with the Cherries for another year.
Reports today are suggesting the Scotland international has dealt the Gunners a blow by ruling out a move away from the Vitality Stadium. But with Arsenal limited to a total transfer spend of £40-45 million and Bournemouth demanding around £25-30 million for Fraser the Gunners have cooled their interest.
Fraser scored seven goals for the Cherries in the season just ended and his 14 assists was second only to Eden Hazard in the Premier League.
But despite being linked with a move to Arsenal it seems that the transfer has yet to get out of the starting blocks with no contact as yet from the north London club.
“The likelihood is I will be at Bournemouth for another year and what will happen, will happen,” Fraser said on Thursday.
“That is all I can really say about it. No one has really spoken to me about it.”
Arsenal are being linked with a move for the Sampdoria duo of winger Dennis Praet and defender Joachim Andersen. The Gunners have bid £44 million which in itself use up their entire transfer budget.
It’s a similar story with another player Arsenal have been linked with, Paris Saint-Germain full-back Thomas Meunier. The Belgium international has also been reported to be keen on a move to the Emirates, but in an interview with Belgian TV station RTBF he suggested that his first choice option is to stay at PSG.
“I will repeat myself again. My ambition is to stay in Paris,” he said.
“If they want me, that will be even better – we will be hand in hand. If they do not want me, then we will find a solution.”
One player who could be set to join Arsenal is Dynamo Dresden goalkeeper Markus Schubert. The 21-year-old, one of Europe’s most highly-rated young keepers, will join the Gunners on a free transfer. Arsenal will, however, have to pay a nominal compensation fee.
