Wan-Bissaka Bid Rejected
Manchester United have had a £40 million bid rejected by Crystal Palace for full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
United have been tracking the England under-21 international for much of the season and according to Sky Sports the bid has already been lodged with Palace. But the south London club have rejected United’s bid and are holding out for £60 million.
Wan-Bissaka only made his debut for Palace in February 2018, but he has nailed down a spot as a first-team regular making 39 appearances for the Eagles in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has three years left on his current deal.
United are looking for a replacement for Antonio Valencia who will leave when his contract expires at the end of the month. He is being linked with a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
De Gea To Receive Pay-Off?
Meanwhile, reports today claim Manchester United keeper David De Gea will pick up a £20 million pay-off if he leaves the club this summer.
De Gea is out of contract at the end of next season and reports suggest he could be a target for Paris Saint-Germain. The French club are said to be preparing a bid of at least £60 million.
According to The Sun, United will hand £20 million to De Gea if he leaves this summer. It means the club will at least be able to walk away with £40 million now rather than nothing if he leaves at the end of next season.
De Gea knows he will get a far better deal from any club he joins on a free transfer. A signing-on fee of £20 million wouldn’t be out of the question.
If this report turns out to be true then he will pick up a lump sum a year early.
