Manchester United transfer target Matthijs de Ligt is unlikely to move to Old Trafford. The Ajax defender looks set to join either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain. Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire is also likely to snub United’s interest in favour of a move to local rivals Manchester City. United could make a move for Monaco’s Youri Tielemans if Paul Pogba leaves. Tielemans has just ended a successful loan spell art Leicester and the Foxes want to make the deal permanent. United defender Matteo Darmian could be an £8 million target for Valencia.

Arsenal are closing in on Belgian forward Yannick Carrasco. But the Gunners have ended their interest in St Etienne full-back William Saliba. The 18-year-old is still a transfer target for Manchester City. The Gunners could lose out to AC Milan in the race for Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen.
