Gunners Eye Up Serie A Duo
Arsenal are ready to spend almost all of their £40 million summer transfer budget on two Sampdoria players.
Reports claim the Gunners are interested in midfielder Dennis Praet and defender Joachim Andersen.
Arsenal were linked with Praet as long ago as 2015 but nothing concrete came out of that interest and he left Belgian side Anderlecht for Sampdoria the following year. He has gone on to make 98 Serie A appearances for the Genoa-based side.
Arsenal scouts have also watched Denmark international Joachim Andersen over the past few months and reports claim there could be a joint-bid for the two players. It was reported in March that Sampdoria could demand as much as £30 million for Andersen alone. At present it looks as though Arsenal could get the pair for around €45 million (£37 million).
The Gunners are also being linked with Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti and RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano. However, with the side operating on a reduced transfer budget this summer a bid for either of those players will only come about if Arsenal sell first.
