Two Keen On Gabon International
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is being linked with interest from two clubs in China’s Super League.
Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG are both said to be interest in Aubameyang who was joint-top scorer in the Premier League this season with 22 goals.
The Gabon international turns 30 in two weeks. He moved to the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for a fee of £56 million. But Arsenal’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League – the third time in a row they have missed out on participating in Europe’s top competition has led to speculation over his future.
Reports claim Aubameyang could be offered £300,000 a week by the Chinese clubs. But that’s only the same as his current earnings at Arsenal.
The two clubs are the dominant forces in Chinese football. Guangzhou have twice won the Asian Champions League and won the Super League title seven years on the trot between 2011 and 2017 before missing out to Shaanghai SIPG last season. The pair both trail Beijing Sinobo Guoan after 12 games so far this season.
