Ndombele To Replace Pogba?
Manchester United are making plans for a summer bid for the Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. However, those plans will only become concrete once the future of Paul Pogba is decided.
The 22-year-old Ndombele has been on the transfer radar of a number of Premier League clubs with United’s cross-town rivals Manchester City said to be specially keen.
The right-sided midfielder has just completed his second season for a Lyon side that finished in third place in Ligue 1 to qualify for the Champions League. He joined them on loan from Amiens in 2017 before the move was made permanent last summer.
Pogba is being linked with a move to Real Madrid following a disappointing season for Manchester United. But matters are complicated by a worldwide ban picked up by his agent Mino Raiola. That ban only expires on 9 August – the day after the Premier League transfer deadline – although clubs in La Liga are able to continue signing players up to the end of August.
Sanchez To Return Early To Training
Manchester United midfielder Alexis Sanchez will cut short his summer holiday and return to pre-season training early in a bid to get fit and find a new club.
Sanchez looks likely to go out on loan next season. The Chile international scored only once in a Premier League season hampered by injuries. He started just nine games in the league and was a substitute in 11 more.
The Sun claims Sanchez will return to training before the planned start date of 2 July in order to regain his fitness.
Representatives of the 30-year-old are believed to have had talks with Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan although his £400,000-a-week basic pay is believed to be a problem.
A loan with a contribution from Manchester United looks to be the likeliest outcome.
