Arsenal are being linked once again with the Belgium international forward Yannick Carrasco.

The 25-year-old currently plays for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang. He was linked in the January transfer window with interest from the Gunners; however, the club’s financial restrictions at the time meant they were only able to offer a loan deal which was unacceptable to Dalian.

Reports suggest that Carrasco is keen on a return to Europe and he admitted in a recent interview that a move could be on the cards.

“There was interest from Arsenal and I had a lot of teams in January giving me the chance to go back to Europe, but here the president said it was difficult to go then,” he said.

“Maybe this summer it is possible. If it is a good thing and I want to go, maybe I can speak with the president.

“I try to do my best because I am a professional for my team, after we can think about a solution. If I have a lot of teams who want me but if the president decides I have to stay, I cannot do anything.

“All that you want is to be close to your family, and to go back to Europe is a good solution.

“I’m OK here, the club is good with me, the players and fans also are nice with me. But you know, when you are far from your family, and I think I can do good things in the European game, I am thinking it’s a solution if I can go back.”

To complicate matters for the former Atletico Madrid striker his wife Noeie Huppart is believed to be back in Belgium

Carrasco is having a purple patch in front of goal with seven goals in nine matches in the Chinese season which began in March.

Gunners Linked With Saliba Transfer

Arsenal are eyeing up a move for St Etienne central defender William Saliba according to reports. claims the Gunners have watched the 18-year-old for much of the season and scouts from the Emirates were in attendance at the weekend when Les Verts ended the campaign with a 3-0 home win over Nice.

Saliba made his debut for St Etienne this season and went on to play in 16 Ligue 1 matches, 13 of them as a starter.

The France under-19 international signed a new four-year deal in April as St Etienne attempted to tie down the youngster. But interest from some of Europe’s top clubs could force them to sell although a transfer fee of €25 million (just under £22 million) is being spoken of.
