United Move In On Sessegnon
Manchester United have made contact with Fulham over the transfer of full-back Ryan Sessegnon.
The 19-year-old has been tracked by United for well over a year and has also been linked with interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus. But according to Sky Sports, United are the only club to have made contact with Fulham.
Sessegnon made 35 appearances in the Premier League this season – 26 as a starter – but he is thought to be reluctant to make the step down to the Championship following the Cottagers’ relegation.
The 19-year-old was in and out of the Fulham side under Claudio Ranieri and was forced to play on the right-wing following the arrival of Ryan Babel.
Some outlets claim that Sessegnon fancies a move to Spurs as he doesn’t want to leave London.
Despite his age, the England Under-20 international has 120 appearances for Fulham scoring 23 goals for the side including two in the Premier League.
The same source claims Manchester United are interested in signing the Newcastle United midfielder Sean Langstaff although the Magpies claim there has been no approach for the 21-year-old and that he won’t be sold this summer.
Rashford Mulling Over Future?
Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is dragging his heels over a new deal at Old Trafford because he isn’t convinced about the direction the club is heading in.
Rashford has been linked with a new contract after a season in which he scored 13 goals for the club. But The Sun claims he is looking for assurances that the club are serious about a top-four finish. The piece offers no substance to its claim.
England international Rashford is under contract until 2021 and there is little chance of him moving this summer,
“Next season we need to get back to how Manchester United play, for me that’s most important,” Rashford wrote this week on social media. “We need to find that willingness and respond the right way.”
