Fraser Thanks Cherries Fans And Team-Mates
Arsenal fans are jumping the gun over a tweet from transfer target Ryan Fraser.
The Bournemouth midfielder has been strongly linked with interest from the Gunners over the past few months. He was recently voted the Cherries’ Supporters Player Of The Year and Players’ Player Of The Year at the south coast club and he took to Twitter on Wednesday to thank the club for his awards.
“Massive thank you to the fans for your support this season,” he wrote.
“Also a thank you to my team-mates for helping me through what’s been a special season who without them I wouldn’t of won these awards.”
But some Arsenal fans are suggesting that the tweet was nothing more than a goodbye to Bournemouth.
“Looking forward to you joining the Gunners,” wrote one fan. “Unai Emery sign him up,” said another. Other tweets suggested: “Announce him Arsenal,” and “Welcome to Arsenal.”
Last month Fraser admitted he was flattered by Arsenal’s interest.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s very nice. It means you are are doing something right,” he said.
“They are a huge club, a massive club. When you see your name thrown around you always think to yourself that you are a Bournemouth player and you try to do well.
“I’m not going to lie, you do feel good, especially when it’s a massive club.”
He added: “I will just keep doing what I am doing, try to enjoy myself and try to win the game for my team.
“What will be, will be.”
The Scotland international is out of contract at the end of next season and is refusing to put pen to paper on a new contract.
