Welshman Could Be First Summer Signing
Manchester United are interested in signing the Swansea City winger Daniel James.
A number of outlets are claiming that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in signing the 21-year-old who is also a target for Everton and Newcastle United. Swansea’s Championship rivals Leeds United were also linked with James during the January transfer window in a deal that would have been worth £8million to the Swans. However, both James and Swansea dragged their heels over the move and he remained at the Liberty Stadium. James now has a valuation of around £15million.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to answer questions about James at his Friday press conference. That in itself isn’t unusual. But sources claim the Wales international could become the Norwegian’s first signing of the summer.
Sancho Set For Dortmund Stay
Meanwhile, another Manchester United transfer target, Jadon Sancho, could snub a return to the Premier League this summer.
The Borussia Dortmund forward is being linked with both United and Chelsea; however, reports today claim he is set to remain with the Bundesliga side next season.
While some are seeing this as a ‘snub’ to the Premier League, in reality Dortmund have insisted for some time that Sancho will be going nowhere this summer.
A number of players could be playing their final match for Manchester United on Sunday. Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia look set to leave on free transfers. However, Eric Bailly could be one of a number of players who will be sold. The Red Devils are prepared to sell the Ivory Coast international to Arsenal provided they recoup the £30million they paid Villareal for him.
