Vidal Set To Stay
Barcelona are prepared to offer Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal a new one-year contract at the Nou Camp.
The 31-year-old is out of contract in 2021 but Barca aim to offer him an additional twelve months to prevent him from leaving for nothing in two years’ time.
Vidal was a surprise signing last summer with Barca paying Bayern Munich €25million. But he has impressed for Ernesto Valverde’s side this season even to the point of keeping Phillippe Coutinho out of the side.
“One of the characteristics of Arturo Vidal is that he gives everything to make more of an effort. It is his virtue, his enthusiasm to push and that’s good because he is an attacking player.”
Clubs in Asia have shown an interest in Vidal while Inter Milan are keen to take him back to Italy. He has played a total of 2142 minutes so far this season scoring two goals and providing five assists.
