Ziyech Claims He Is ‘Picky’
Arsenal transfer target Hakim Ziyech insists he could remain at Ajax for another season if he feels a move isn’t right for him.
The Moroccan is one of a number of the Dutch side’s players being linked with a move abroad and Arsenal are known to have watched him in action on a number of occasions.
But speaking to Inside Ajax, the 26-year-old insisted that a move isn’t a nailed-on certainty.
“Anything is possible,” he said.
“I am always someone who is very picky and there must be a club that I want to trade in for Ajax. That doesn’t just happen.”
Ziyech has scored 19 goals and provided 20 assists for an Ajax side that is top of the Eredivisie and has defeated both Real Madrid and Juventus to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The Morocco international was born in the Netherlands and has spent his entire career in Dutch football. He began his career with Heerenveen before moving on to Twente and, in 2016, to Ajax.
Ziyech has scored 38 goals in 120 games for Ajax during his three seasons with the club. But half of those – 19 – have come in 39 games for the club in what is by far the most productive season of his career.
Liverpool and Manchester United are also being linked.
