Liverpool Wanted Vincius In Mane Deal

Klopp Keen On Brazilian

Vincius Junior Liverpool transfer news

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp demanded that Real Madrid include Vincius Junior in any deal for Sadio Mane. That’s according to reports from Spain.

Real are interested in signing Mane and made an approach for the Senegal international last summer. But according to the Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito, Klopp demanded a transfer fee of €200million (currently worth £173million) and he demanded that the Brazil international Vincius Junior headed to Anfield as part of the transfer.

The demand for Vincius was rejected out-of-hand by Real Madrid. However, El Chiringuito claims Klopp is “obsessed” by the Brazilian.

Given that the 18-year-old only moved to Real last summer in a £38.7million transfer from Flamengo in his homeland it seems likely that Klopp demanded Vincius in a loan deal.

The teenager has made 27 first-team appearances for Real since he joined the club with most of those coming as a member of the starting eleven. He has scored four goals and provided 12 assists.

But he suffered an ankle ligament injury in March that may well have ended his season.
