Neres On Arsenal Wish-List
Arsenal will face competition this summer for the Ajax striker David Neres.
The Gunners are the latest side to be linked with the Brazilian following his performances in the Champions League this season.
Neres hit Ajax’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Juventus last week and he also scored against Real Madrid earlier in the competition.
The Sun claims those performances have been enough to suggest that both Arsenal and Manchester United could be weighing up moves for a player rated in the £40-45 million bracket.
Liverpool were linked last week. Everton and Chelsea are also interested while Borussia Dortmund will make a move of their own if they sell Jadon Sancho. Paris Saint-Germain have also watched Neres in action this season.
Despite rave reviews in the Champions League, Neres’ strike rate this season has been modest with eight goals and 11 assists in the Eredivisie so far this season.
New Blow For Suarez
Arsenal midfielder Denis Suarez is suffering from a persistent groin injury that is hampering his efforts in training.
The on-loan Spaniard has made only six substitute appearances for the Gunners since his arrival from Barcelona at the end of January. But reports today claim Arsenal’s medical staff have suggested that he reduces the time he spends training in order not to aggravate the injury.
Arsenal have an option to buy Suarez on a permanent basis this summer. That move was already in jepoardy before this latest news.
