Midfielder Seen As Ramsey Replacement
Arsenal transfer target Ryan Fraser admits a possible move to the Emirates may have been on his mind in recent weeks.
The 25-year-old Bournemouth midfielder is being linked with a move to the Emirates this summer with reports suggesting Arsenal’s scouts have watched him in action on a number of occasions.
Fraser said recently that he found the link with Arsenal flattering but speaking after the Cherries’ 5-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday he insisted that he just needs to get on with his game.
“Maybe it hasn’t helped. Subconsciously, you might think about it. I’m just trying to get on with my work. Every player says that,” Fraser told BBC Sport.
“At the same time, I think the best thing I can do is play well on the pitch. There’s no point in stuff coming out and then I start to have bad games.”
Fraser scored his seventh goal of the season in Saturday’s triumph which pretty much ended any lingering doubts about Bournemouth’s Premier League safety. With four games left they are only five points short of their record top-flight points haul of 46.
Fraser is being seen as the long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey who leaves Arsenal at the end of the season. Manager Unai Emery brought in Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona in January, but the Spaniard has failed to impress and looks set to return to the Nou Camp at the end of the season.
