Pogba In For Kroos?
Real Madrid are looking to offload midfielder Toni Kroos to make way for Paul Pogba of Manchester United according to reports from Spain.
AS newspaper claims the one-time United transfer target could be a victim of Zinedine Zidane’s clearout this summer. The Germany international was linked with United in the summer of 2014 only for the then Bayern Munich player to accept an offer to move to the Bernabeu.
But Kroos has endured a torrid time this season and he came in for particular criticism following Real’s 4-1 home defeat to Ajax that saw them relinquish their hold on the Champions League. If he pushes for a move then nobody will stand in his way.
Whether United are still interested remains to be seen. He turned 29 at the start of the year and much will depend on the sort of transfer fee Real are looking for.
AS adds that Madrid are keen on Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as a potential replacement for Kroos. Pogba is known to be keen on a move to Real although United are expected to stand in his way this summer.
The La Liga giants are also interested in Tottenhan Hotspur winger Christian Eriksen.
United Turn To Meunier Instead Of Wan-Bissaka
Meanwhile, Manchester United are reported to have dropped their interest in Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. United have been tracking the 21-year-old for much of the season, but they have switched their attentions to Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier.
According to The Sun, United’s reason for ending their pursuit of Wan-Bissaka is the form of Diogo Dalot. However, some outlets were claiming not too long ago was that Dalot’s patchy form was the reason United wanted to buy a new right-back this summer.
Meunier, 27, fits the bill for his experience. He is a big United fan and visited Old Trafford for a Champions League game earlier this year. But he has only started four of PSG’s last 14 games and is being tipped for the axe this summer.
