But Move Would Cost €150m
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is a summer transfer target for Real Madrid. But the La Liga giants will only make a move if the Senegal international if he hands in a transfer request at Anfield.
Real are looking to spend around €200million this summer as Zinedine Zidane begins a squad rebuild. The likes of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard will cost €80-90million while Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot is available on a free transfer as his contract expires this summer.
But Zidane has his eyes on two other players. Spanish newspaper El Confidencial believes he will sanction a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as well as Liverpool’s Mane. However, both United and Liverpool are expecting to stand in the way of their respective players.
Pogba is known to be keen on a move to the Bernabeu but Real know that Liverpool won’t sell cheaply. Phillippe Coutinho went to Barcelona for a fee that could reach €160million. Mane will cost something similar and there will be no prospect of a move unless he hands in a transfer request. That would involve him giving up a substantial seven-figure some in bonuses and loyalty payments.
For now, Mane is a luxury for Real Madrid.
