Real Want Raiola’s Help
Real Madrid have launched ‘Operation Pogba’ in a bid to lure the Frenchman away from Manchester United.
The La Liga giants are expected to confirm their first big signing ahead of next season in the shape of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. The Belgium international is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days on a six-year deal at the Bernabeu. The move could even be confirmed in the coming days.
But Real aren’t prepared to stop there. Spanish newspaper Marca – often a reliable source on matters concerning the club – claims they are hoping Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola can persuade him to join Real.
If Pogba had had his way in 2016 then he would already be a Real player. He was set to move to Spain from Serie A side Juventus and he even bought a property in the Spanish capital – though he later claimed it was purely for investment purposes.
But Manchester United’s offer to Juventus, Pogba and most of all to Raiola scuppered any move to Madrid. It could be that the agent’s commission – put at a whopping £40million – could be key to any move.
In the meantime, United have been putting out the feelers over a new deal. They have also suggested that Pogba won’t be sold under any circumstances. For their part, Real have a limit as to how much they will pay. Both club president Florentino Perez and head coach Zinedine Zidane want to bring Pogba to the Bernabeu – but not at any price.
