Cagliari Man In Demand
Arsenal scouts were in attendance for Italy’s Euro 2020 qualifier with Finland on Saturday. The Gunners representatives were there to watch Nicola Barella.
The Cagliari midfielder has been watched by scouts from the Emirates on a number of occasions this season. But Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claims Arsenal representatives to Udinese’s Stadio Friuli where they watched Barella score his first international goal in a 2-0 victory.
Cagliari value Barella at €50million (£44million) and unless they are prepared to haggle over the price it could rule out a move to the Emirates.
But Arsenal face competition for Barella as it is. Serie A sides AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Roma are also interested. Chelsea are also being linked although their transfer ban could rule out a move to Stamford Bridge. Liverpool have been linked in the past; however, Jurgen Klopp says the Reds won’t be making any big-money signings this summer.
Arsenal are also watching Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo. The Gunners have watched the 22-year-old on a number of occasions this season and reports claim a move is almost certain this summer.
Aribo has made 28 appearances and scored six goals for the Addicks this campaign.
Arsenal have also been linked with Sampdoria’s Denmark international defender Joachim Andersen. The 22-year-old could cost as much as €35million (£30million) this summer.
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Roma are also being linked.
