Kroos In New United Link
Reports today are claiming that Manchester United can sign Toni Kroos from Real Madrid for £50million this summer.
The Germany international was linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2014, but the Red Devils lost out when Real bid €30million – at the time worth £24million – for the then Bayern Munich midfielder.
Kroos has had a poor season so far failing to find the back of the net and providing just three assists in his 21 appearances. The Sun claims he is keen to reignite his career and has always been interested in a move to the Premier League.
However, his performances this season haven’t been worthy of a £50million price tag and in many regards Kroos is no different to some of Jose Mourinho’s targets last summer: late-twenties and with a steep price tag.
A move to Old Trafford doesn’t look to be on the cards.
Reports elsewhere are once again linking Manchester United with two existing transfer targets.
The Sun claims both United and Paris Saint-Germain are willing to bid £70million for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. The teenager was part of the England side that defeated the Czech Republic 5-0 in the opening game of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign on Friday.
However, Dortmund are expected to dig in their heels over Sancho. The Bundesliga side want him to remain with them for at least one more year.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claims United are prepared to put in a “mega” bid for Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly. However, the paper fails to flesh out its claim with any new information.
The Senegal international is one of Serie A’s most dependable performers and has been rated at over £120million by Napoli.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea are also being linked although as things stand the west London side are out of the running because of their two-window transfer ban.
