Arsenal will challenge Leicester City for the Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney.
The £20million-rated Scotland international is being linked with a departure from Parkhead this summer and the Premier League duo are favourites to secure his signature.
Leicester are being linked purely because Tierney played under manager Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. Plus the Foxes are expected to receive offers for Ben Chilwell this summer and they are already on the lookout for a replacement.
But Arsenal boss Unai Emery is looking to make three signings with his budget of £40-45million and a new left-back is one of them.
Tierney, 21, is rated by Celtic at around £20million.
Arsenal have had talks over the Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr. The 21-year-old has been watched by the Gunners on a number of occasions this season and the two clubs had informal talks after Sarr got on the scoresheet in last week’s 3-1 win for the French side in the Europa League Round of 16 first-leg tie.
Arsenal are also being linked with Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. The Clarets are looking to sell Pope this summer and are looking for a transfer fee of around £10million.
Pope returned from injury earlier this season but is only third-choice keeper at Turf Moor. Tom Heaton has bagged the number 1 jersey and Joe Hart is expected to stay beyond the end of the season. Pope is expected to leave as a result.
