Hazard ‘Focused On Chelsea’ Says Team-Mate
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has never said anything in the dressing room about a move to Real Madrid.
That’s according to Hazard’s Chelsea team-mate Willian.
The Belgium international is once again being linked with a move to Real Madrid – and Zinedine Zidane’s return as head coach at the Bernabeu has only helped to increase the speculation.
Hazard was linked last season with a move to Madrid and he publicly praised Zidane towards the end of the campaign. But Chelsea stood firm last summer and refused to let him go.
However, speaking at a press conference ahead of this evening’s Europa League Round of 16 second-leg clash with Dynamo Kiev, Willian said Hazard is totally focused on getting the Blues into the last eight.
“No doubt, he’s focused here,” said the Brazilian.
“He’s never said something about Real Madrid or stuff like this. He just wants to continue to play for Chelsea.”
Chelsea face a battle to hang on to Hazard this summer. The Belgian is about to enter the final year of his contract with the west London side and the Blues face losing him for nothing next summer if he doesn’t put pen to paper.
But they also face losing him for a relatively cut-price £50million – not the £100million being suggested – and they won’t be able to replace him because of the two-window transfer ban currently being served.
